Artemis Organic Heart & Liver Infused Beef Stick

I met the Artemis team at a trade show in August 2026, and this is the meat stick I’d been looking for. Certified organic, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, and infused with beef heart and liver. What sets it apart is not the label. It’s the testing. Artemis publishes every lab panel on its own product page, with dates and the lab director’s signature. I haven’t seen another meat stick brand do that. Click the purple button below and use code Irina20 for 20% off your first order.

Below: what the lab reports actually say, why grass-finished plus organic is a narrower gate than either one alone, and the two ingredients I want you to know about before you buy.

Why this one earned a spot

Most meat sticks fail on one of three things. The beef is not organic. The cattle finish on grain. Or the company will not show you any testing. Artemis clears all three.

  • Certified organic, audited by CCOF. That means a yearly on-site inspection, plus unannounced ones.
  • 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Organic rules actually allow grain finishing for part of an animal’s life. Artemis does not use that allowance, and the grass-finished claim went through federal label review with the production protocol behind it.
  • Published lab results, panel by panel, with test dates.

What the lab reports say

Artemis tests through Light Labs, an independent lab with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. That is the real accreditation standard for testing labs. Each panel is dated and signed by the lab director. Here is what the Heart & Liver Original results showed when I reviewed them in September 2026:

  • Glyphosate and AMPA: not detected.
  • Pesticides: around 180 compounds screened, none detected.
  • PFAS: around 35 compounds screened, none detected.
  • Bisphenols (BPA, BPF, BPS): not detected.
  • Phthalates: 21 compounds, none detected.
  • Allergens (gluten, soy, peanut): not detected.
  • Heavy metals: mercury not detected.  Arsenic, cadmium, and lead were found at low levels, all below California Prop 65 daily trigger levels, the strictest regulations we have.
  • Nitrate: 37.4 parts per million. This one has a number, not a “not detected.”

Two honest notes on how to read that list. “Not detected” means the lab did not find the substance down to the level its method can measure. It’s not the same as proof that zero is present, and no lab can give you that. And the panels are dated between April and August 2026, which tells me this is an ongoing program rather than one test run for marketing.

The nitrate result is the reason I trust the rest of the page. A company testing for show hides anything that’s not a clean zero. Artemis published a real number. For perspective, plenty of vegetables run far higher. Spinach and beets are in a different league entirely.

Two ingredients to know about

Organic celery powder. This is a natural source of nitrates, and it does a preservative’s job. It works with the fermentation to keep harmful bacteria out. I would rather you know that than read “no preservatives” and assume nothing is doing that work. If you avoid celery powder, this is your deciding factor.

Organic maple syrup powder. It feeds the fermentation, and most of it gets used up in the process. The label lists 1 gram of total sugar per stick and no added sugar. If you are counting carbs closely like me, the whole stick is 2 grams, which I think is pretty low.

What is in one stick

Each stick is 1.3 ounces, or 37 grams, with 120 calories and 8 grams of protein. The heart and liver are what make the nutrient panel stand out:

  • Vitamin B12: 103% of the daily value.
  • Riboflavin: 31%.
  • Copper: 30%.
  • Zinc: 15%.

The full ingredient list is short: organic grass-fed beef, water, organic grass-fed beef heart, organic grass-fed beef liver, organic maple syrup powder, sea salt, organic celery powder, organic black pepper, garlic, coriander, and cayenne, a lactic acid starter culture, and a dye-free beef collagen casing. No seed oils. No fillers. No binders.

They are fermented rather than just dried, which is also why they keep for about six months without refrigeration. Good for travel and for a bag you forget to unpack.

How it tastes

I tried these at the booth. Savory and deep, not sweet, and the organ meat does not announce itself. If you have avoided organ products because of the flavor, this is a great place to start.
