Air Doctor air purifier 5000 covers 868 sq. ft. 5x/hour and 2170 sq. ft. 2x/hour.

The unit features dual 3-stage filtration system including two UltraHEPA filters.  An UltraHEPA filter should be effective at filtering ultrafine particles such as mycotoxins and viruses (e.g., COVID-19).  Air Doctor air purifier 5000 captures mold spores but does not eliminate mold (to eliminate mold, its sources should be professionally remediated).  It also uses a WhisperJet fan that is potentially 30% quieter than the fans in air purifiers by other brands.

Dual 3-stage filtration

STAGE 1: Two pre-filters for larger contaminants like dust and animal hair; can be vacuumed or hand-washed to be reused.

STAGE 2: Two Carbon/Gas Trap/VOC filters that combine two types of media – activated carbon (1.65 lbs each, 3.3 lbs in total) to remove odors and gases (e.g., smoke) and potassium permanganate to deactivate certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like formaldehyde.

STAGE 3: Two UltraHEPA filters that remove 100% of airborne particles at 0.003 microns (to compare, HEPA filters (like in Austin Air purifiers) remove 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns and 95% of particles 0.1 microns and larger)

Does not produce measurable ozone

Filter replacement: Carbon – every 6 months, UltraHEPA filter – once a year

Return policy: 30-day full refund

The California Air Resources Board categorizes Air Doctor air purifier 5000 as a “mechanical” air cleaner meaning that it only uses physical filtration, such as pleated or HEPA-style filters, and does not generate ozone or ions.  Please read about Air Doctor 3000 and Air Doctor 1000 and their ozone emissions.
