First, the available research shows immense benefits of red light therapy for both your skin and body. Specifically, red light therapy works by delivering certain wavelengths of red and near-infrared light into the skin, where they are absorbed by cells to stimulate energy production (ATP), reduce inflammation, and support natural healing processes. From what I’ve discovered, red light saunas generally fall into two categories: “traditional” wooden ones (that mostly use far infrared light) and portable models. I’m not quite ready to commit to a wood sauna—it takes up more space, usually needs extra installation help, and comes with more maintenance. A portable sauna just makes more sense for me right now since I can move it around and set it up anywhere in my home. But when I started researching, I realized there actually aren’t many good portable red light sauna options out there. One was supposedly made of bamboo but designed so your head and arms stick out—you’re basically zipped into a heated sack. The other saunas I found were similar in design to this one (like a heated zip-up sack or a standing zip-up booth) and were not made of non-toxic materials.
SaunaSpace FireLight Sauna is a full-spectrum infrared light sauna made with non-toxic materials, with no EMF concerns and no preheat time, and with actual comfort. It uses three or four 250W incandescent FireLight® bulbs that emit a broad, natural spectrum (550–3000+ nm)—which basically means it covers near-, mid-, and even far-infrared. So you get the full benefit of deep, radiant heat and red light therapy (photobiomodulation) all in one session. Not only do you sweat, but also support your cells, mitochondria, circulation, and detox systems in a natural, comfortable way.
If a whole sauna isn’t in your budget, don’t worry — you can start small. SaunaSpace also offers the Hearth Infrared Sauna Panel or the single Glow Infrared Therapy Light, which you can easily use in your shower or bedroom.

- No need for an electrician or a giant dedicated room–just a standard outlet and some space in the corner of my office. It’s even wheelchair accessible.
What It Feels Like
Honestly, it feels like sunbathing in the shade—warm, calming, and revitalizing. It’s hard to describe until you try it, but the FireLight® Spectrum makes a huge difference. It’s not a harsh blast of heat—it’s a soothing, penetrating warmth that gets in your muscles and joints. You feel lighter, clearer, calmer afterward.
If you’ve been on the fence about infrared saunas—maybe overwhelmed by options or unsure if they’re just hype—this is the one that made me stop searching. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but it is the most thoughtfully designed, well-made, and effective one I found. And that made the decision easy.
