It is important to note that they tested their organic plant protein powder by sending a sample to an independent lab as opposed to relying on their manufacturer’s tests. Also, the heavy metal levels are the lowest I have seen so far among the tests done by an independent party. To learn how to understand 3rd party test reports, feel free to read my Clean Protein Powder Guide post.
According to the test report, the heavy metal levels are as follows:
- Mercury: <0.001 ppm
- Lead: 0.018 ppm
- Arsenic: 0.036 ppm
- Cadmium: 0.077 ppm
Let’s discuss what this means, taking lead as an example. Per the California Prop. 65, lead intake should not exceed 0.5 mcg per day. According to Perfect Supplements, the daily intake of the powder should be 1 scoop (27 g). 0.018 ppm translates into 0.486 mcg of lead, which is under the California limit. The other heavy metals are the same.
In addition, the protein powder is certified organic, vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, and free of any additives. Also, it offers 9 essential amino acids and a high level of magnesium. In sum, I am thrilled to be able to tell you about this wonderful product. Based on the 3rd party test reports Perfect Supplements provided, I approved the following products:
